Music in the Mall, Banyule’s first ever Melbourne Fringe Festival event, is an opportunity to experience a wide variety of musical styles and to get to know the Mall’s diverse food outlets, many offering traditional cultural cuisine fused with contemporary influences of Australia.

Our program presents an array of musical talent and some exciting new initiatives. We are thrilled to involve local performers Alia and the Azura Oasis Dancers, The Marville Family, The Keynote Singers and rising stars Rachel by the Stream, who recently returned from the Glastonbury Festival in the UK. The Melbourne Ukulele Kollectve’s gaggle of ukers will share their crusade to put music back into the into the hands and hearts of the people. Cementing their reputation as one of Australia’s most energetic gypsy swing ensembles, The Woohoo Revue are certain to get your heart racing and imagination souring. Ajak Kwai and Band will bring to life the colours, rhythms and mystery of African sounds, while Kutcha Edwards’ deeply honest storytelling will remind us of the music’s power to change the way see the world and each other. Music in the Mall will be an unforgettable experience of music, dance and culture. With its mix of cultures and 1950s suburban Australia, the Bell St Mall in Heidelberg West is the perfect place to dance to a different rhythm. Let the music begin!
